Md. Mahabub Chowdhury is a resource person of Bangladesh Research Institute for Development (BRID). Mr. Mahabub is also working as a Lecturer in the Department of Development Studies, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU), Bangladesh for years. Before joining, Mr. Mahabub completed his MSS and BSS in Women & Gender Studies from Begum Rokeya University Rangpur with distinctions. After completing his MSS degree, Mr. Mahabub joined Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) Head Office, Thakurgaon as a Management Trainee. Later, Mr. Mahabub joined as a Lecturer in the Department of Development Studies, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU). Mr. Mahabub During his teaching career, Mr. Mahabub taught several subjects and courses such as Anthropology and Development, Sociology and Development, Gender and Development. Mr. Mahabub conducted many original researches that are useful to the people of the disadvantaged groups. Mr. Mahabub participated as a research associate in many research projects funded by government, universities and foreign donor groups. For example, project on Women’s Experience of Vulnerability in Flood in the context of Northern Region of Bangladesh from 2020 to 2021, Violence against Women During Covid-19 in Bangladesh from 2020-2021, Impact of Flood Induced Migration on Livelihood and Gender Relation: A Study on Chilmari, Kurigram in 2020, Rural Urban Migration of Women: Dreams and Reality in 2020, Women’s Access to Local Government Institutions: A Comprehensive Study in Ulipur, Kurigram in 2019, Perception and Knowledge on Reproductive Hygiene and Practices of Female University Students in Bangladesh in 2018, Women’s Economic Vulnerability of Flood: A Case Study of Area Habitants Living Nearby the Tista River of the Northern Territory of Bangladesh in 2016, Rural Urban Migration of Women: Dreams and Reality in 2016, Socioeconomic Status and Maternal Health-seeking Behavior: A Socioeconomic Status and Maternal Health-seeking Behavior: A Comparative Study between a Rural Site and an Urban Community in Bangladesh in 2014, and more. Mr. Mahabu also published several journal papers on flood, violence, and rural and urban migration such as Women’s Experience of Vulnerability in Flood in the context of Northern Region of Bangladesh, Violence against Women During Covid-19 in Bangladesh, and Impact of Flood Induced Migration on Livelihood and Gender Relation: A Study on Chilmari, Kurigram. Mr. Mahabub has attended three international research conference/conference papers and conference proceedings, experience of working in different research projects as a research assistant, research associate, and published several research papers in international and peer-reviewed journals.
