Executive Summary

  1. The Largest portion of the participant (40.8%) is the age group of 36-50 while the smallest portion (2.2%) is in the age group of 65-75 years, (50.3%) have completed their primary education level and (52.2%) families with two members
  2. Among the 358 in the field survey (62.6%) percent participants were farmer and nearly (47.2%) have annual income of 20,000 to 100,000 taka. Majority (42.7%) have no secondary occupation and (43.9%) of participants had annual incomes of 10,000 to 100,000 taka
  3. A vast majority of respondents (68.4%) were possessed in 5 to 100 decimals own land. Majority of the respondent (78.5%) haven’t any lease land but (62%) participants have 5 to 100 decimal of total land and (36.9%) of the respondents were enterprising poo
  4. Cultivated during the K1 (March-July 2021) season cultivating paddy was considered to be the most important task by 40.2% of the respondents and (72.3%) total amount of cultivated 5 to 100 decimals, total cost of production (investment) (84.1%) has invested their money on 700 to 50000 range, total production (Mt) (4.2%) participants were belonging in amount range below 1000 and 93.6% of respondents sold fewer than 100,000 units of their product. Total sales (revenue) 85.5% of the respondents have earned less than 100,000, total gross profit (in BDT) nearly 83.8% were supported at an amount of less than 50,000.

Cultivated during the K2 (July-November 2021) season cultivating paddy was considered to be the most important task by 80.7% of the respondents and (65.1%) total amount of cultivated 5 to 100 decimals, total cost of production (investment) (79.3%) has invested their money on 700 to 50000 range, total production (Mt) (50.8 %) participants were belonging in amount range below 1000 and 93.2% of respondents sold fewer than 100,000 units of their product. Total sales (revenue) 83.2% of the respondents have earned less than 100,000, total gross profit (in BDT) nearly 80.2% were supported at an amount of less than 50,000.
  6. Total cultivated crops in the (Nov 2021 to March 2022 (Robi) season nearly 43.9% of the land had no crop cultivation and total amount of cultivated land 5 to 100 decimals amount land were cultivated by 40.5%, total cost of production (investment) (46.4%) have invested their money on 700 to 50000 range, total production (Mt) (53.6 %) participants were belonging in amount range below 1000 and 46.6% of respondents sold fewer than 100,000 units of their product. Total sales (revenue) 50% of the respondents have earned less than 100,000, total gross profit (in BDT) nearly 44.1% were supported at an amount of less than 50,000.
  7. Total cultivated fruits/wood in the last one year it showed that extremely high percentage of respondents (87.7%) did not answer to the survey. Total amount of cultivated land 69.3% did not answer, total investment (71.5%) respondent not answered, total production 73.2% not answered, total sales Qty 73.2% also not answered, total sales (Income) (BDT) 73.2% not respondent, total gross profit (BDT) 73.2% not respondent.
  8. Total income generated by the head of household from the source of Day Labor showed that 3500 to 4500 takas were generated by 41.1%, income generated by another man 98.3% were not responded, income generated by the woman 90.8% responded totally not responded. (to be continued)
